Permalink | No CommentsGrandpa Robb has come for a visit. Like most grandparents who’ve not seen their grandchildren in a year, he came bearing gifts. In addition to the usual stuffed animals and dresses and sticker books, he also brought the girls an XO PC.

This is a nice little computer, that satisfies the nerd even in me. It’s quite a powerful little machine for tiny hands, and I find it quite refreshing that it’s a computer that’s the size of a toy, rather than a toy that pretends to be a computer.

We’ve set the computer up for the girls on the coffee table, where our laptops live, so that we can all use our computers at the same place in the house. The girls, who always want to be just like Mummy, don’t have to pretend anymore. And with a real web browser, Rowan can play her games from the CBC website on her own computer.
It’s pretty cute, isn’t it? The little green ’n’ white computer, being used by the wee midgets?
